چکیده
The influence of steric effects on the performances space electroosmotic thrusters (EOTs) was numerically delineated in soft nanochannels for which its walls are covered with polyelectrolyte materials. size effect ionic species, namely effect, is neglected many previous research studies, but it has vital influences electrostatic potential and velocity, further introduced into present study order to understand improve exploration nano channels. thruster’s thrust, specific impulse, total input power, thruster efficiency thrust-to-power ratio computed based finite difference methods. It found that thrust impulse increase parameter while possess opposite trends due enhancement Joule heating dissipation. For real situations consideration ion size, although could be promoted, only 30–70%, peak values fade away.

متن کاملElectroosmotic Flow in Mixed Polymer Brush-Grafted Nanochannels
Mixed polymer brush-grafted nanochannels—where two distinct species of polymers are alternately grafted on the inner surface of nanochannels—are an interesting class of nanostructured hybrid materials. By using a coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulation method, we are able to simulate the electrokinetic transport dynamics of the fluid in such nanochannels as well as the conformational behav...
متن کاملMesoscopic simulations of electroosmotic flow and electrophoresis in nanochannels
We present dissipative particle (DPD) simulations of electrolyte flow in nanochannels for varying salt concentration and surface slip conditions. First, a method is presented by which the slip length δ Β at the channel boundaries can be tuned systematically from negative to infinity by introducing suitable wall-fluid friction forces. Using this method, we study electroosmotic flow (EOF) in nano...
متن کاملHigh-ionic-strength electroosmotic flows in uncharged hydrophobic nanochannels.
We report molecular dynamics simulation results of high-ionic-strength electroosmotic flows inside uncharged nanochannels. The possibility of this unusual electrokinetic phenomenon has been discussed by Dukhin et al. [A. Dukhin, S. Dukhin, P. Goetz, Langmuir 21 (2005) 9990]. Our computed velocity profiles clearly indicate the presence of a net flow with a maximum velocity around 2 m/s. We found...
